A short synopsis of our doctrine

The Pentecostal Church of Pori holds the Bible as it’s highest guideline of faith and belief. The key points of our doctrine are listed in “The main articles of faith of the Pentecostal Church of Finland”.

Theologically The Pentecostal Church of Pori is mainly similar with other Christian churches and the leading principles of reformation. The biggest theological difference between Pentecostal Church and (e.g.) The Lutheran Church is that the membership of the Church comes through personal belief and declaration of faith. Pentecostals also require a baptism taken by ones personal request.

As a local church we openly favor the charismatic gifts of the Holy Spirit such as healing of the sick, the gift of prophecy, speaking in tongues etc.

APOSTOLIC CONFESSION OF FAITH

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of the saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
